Being a good reader is critical if a student is going to be successful in school. In 2017, the Michigan Legislature implemented the Third Grade Reading Law to ensure that students exit 3rd grade reading at or above grade level. In accordance with this law, and as a means of better informing classroom instruction, our school has developed a “Read at Home Plan.” This plan promotes engaging students and their families with reading on a daily basis. We ask that you follow this daily routine and engage in discussions about what your child is reading each night. Reading is required on weekends and vacation days as well.
