Howe Montessori and Center Based Education

Message from the Principal: The Learning Continues

Greetings Howe Families,

I hope all is well with your family. We are missing you all very much. As you may have heard through district communications, the Dearborn Public Schools’ Continuity of Learning Plan has been approved and will begin implementation starting tomorrow.

Until this point, students have been receiving enrichment activities with the purpose of maintaining skills. With the new plan, students will be receiving new instruction each week, which includes two classroom virtual lessons that will be facilitated by the teacher. Attendance will be taken and assignments will be required and graded for feedback. Teachers will be available for ongoing support and will publish their availability for additional support and contact information. Please notify your child’s teacher if you need to borrow a Chromebook or if you do not have internet and we will provide an alternate way of providing work and instruction.

Your teachers, our staff members, and I are here to support you through these difficult times. We are learning new ways to teach just as our students are learning new ways to learn. Please know that the health and safety of our students is our number one priority, and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out. You can reach me by email at fournit@dearbornschools.org or by leaving a voicemail at 313-827-7004 and I will return your call.

Thank you for your partnership to help our children continue to learn!

Respectfully,

Tammy Fournier, Principal
