Howe Montessori and Center Based Education

Message from the Principal

Good Afternoon Howe School Families,

Since learning about the Governor’s Executive Order to close schools for the next 3 weeks, the staff at Howe School has been working together to develop a plan of support for our students while we are not able to attend school. This is a long time for our students to be out of school, and as a school and district, we believe it is important that students continue to learn and to maintain or reinforce what has already been learned. It is expected that while school is not in session, students continue to be engaged in learning.

Students in the Montessori Program will receive assigned tasks on their teacher’s blog for the next three weeks. Teachers will be monitoring progress for students and will be checking in with families to provide feedback and support when needed. Kindergarteners also received packets on Friday to be completed and returned when school resumes. If you were unable to pick it up, your packet will be mailed to you on Monday. Teachers in our Special Education Programs have created individualized learning packets for each student that will also be received through US Mail this week. By working together, we believe we can ensure that students do not lose what they have learned throughout the year.

Thank you for your collaboration and partnership. Please let us know if you have questions, concerns, or need support of any kind. You can reach me by email at fournit@dearbornschools.org or may leave a voicemail message at 313-827-7004 and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Respectfully,

Tammy Fournier
