Summer vacation is winding down and we are very excited to begin the new school year at Howe School. This summer many of our students attended our fun and exciting summer program. Some of our families traveled, and some may have stayed close to home. No matter how you spent the summer, we are looking forward to the opportunity to learn together again this school year. I wanted to reach out and share some information for the new school year.
Important Dates- Here are a couple of quick reminders of the upcoming events at Howe School:
Friday, August 27 from 2:00-3:00- Meet & Greet on the Howe School Playground
Monday, August 30- First Day of School with Half-Day Dismissal
Kindergarten will have half days Monday, August 30-September 10
Friday, September 3- NO SCHOOL- Labor Day Weekend
Monday, September 6- NO SCHOOL- Labor Day
Wednesday, September 8- Open House 6:00-7:30 at Howe School
Wednesday, September 15- Late Start (School begins an hour later)
Friday, September 17 – Half Day of School
School Start and End Times:
Special Education Programs: 8:25-3:20 (Half-Day Dismissal is at 11:30)
Montessori Elementary Program: 9:00-3:55 (Half-Day Dismissal is at 12:05)
Montessori Drop-Off and Pick Doors:
Please use caution when dropping off and picking up students from school. Please use the following doors to drop off and pick up students. If you have students in both groups please drop them off in the back parking lot. There will be no morning lineup. Students should remain in their cars until the doors open at 8:40 for breakfast. We will have a continuous entry.
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades will enter and dismiss at Door 18 (Ann Arbor Trail lot)
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades enter at door 12 (Back Parking Lot)

Covid Mitigation Strategies:
Please be sure to use this screener each day before sending students to school.
Students and staff will be required to wear masks inside the school building to start the year. You may want to send an extra mask each day as a backup.
Students will not be required to wear masks outdoors.
Social distancing of 3-6ft whenever possible.
Attendance:
Students are required to be in school this year and attendance will be monitored closely.
