Good Morning,
I hope everyone has enjoyed a healthy and relaxing summer filled with fun and opportunities to experience new things! It was a quick and eventful summer here at Howe. As the summer winds down, I wanted to let you know of some important dates:
OPEN HOUSE: Friday, August 25 from 1:30-3:00
Open House will be held before the school year begins, on Friday, August 25 from 1:30-3:00. Parents and students are encouraged to come into the school to meet the teacher and see the classroom they will be learning in this year. It is a great time to bring in school supplies and prepare for the new year. Be sure to stop in and see Mrs. Fournier who will have special treats to share in the cafeteria.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: Monday, August 28
The first day of school is a half day for all students. The special education programs will attend from 8:25-11:30. Buses will begin unloading at 8:15 by door 12. Breakfast will be provided. The general education Montessori Program will attend from 9:00-12:05. Students may begin arriving at 8:35 for a free breakfast in the cafeteria. Lower elementary students in grades kindergarten through 2nd grade will be dropped off and picked up at door 18. Students in 3rd grade through 5th grade will be dropped off and dismissed through door 13. For families who have children in both ranges, please drop them off and pick them up with the older sibling at door 13. Parents will NOT be permitted in the building with the students so be sure to take any pictures prior to students entering the building. We encourage students to bring supplies to Open House, but we will have tables set up to place any students bringing supplies that morning. Be sure they are marked with the student’s name and grade so we can get them where they belong.
KINDERGARTEN SOFT START: Tuesday, August 29- Thursday, August 31 and Tuesday, September 5
The Montessori Kindergarten Class will run from 9:00-12:05 on these dates. Students will need to be picked up by 12:05 at door 18 which is in the smaller lot off Ann Arbor Trail. A free breakfast and lunch will be provided for the students on the soft start dates. All other programs and grades will have full-day sessions these days with special education classes dismissing at 3:20 and Montessori Program dismissing at 3:55.
NO SCHOOL- Friday, September 1, and Monday, September 4 for the Labor Day Holiday
I am so excited to see everyone again and am looking forward to a great school year!
Thank you,
Tammy Fournier- Howe School Principal
